Lymphatic Therapy

How soon after surgery can I start Lymphatic Therapy?2026-01-14T15:59:24+00:00

This depends on your surgeon’s recommendations and the type of surgery. Some patients start within 48-72 hours post-op, while others may need to wait a few days to a week.

What can I expect during a session?2026-01-14T15:59:51+00:00

Your massage therapist will use light, rhythmic strokes to encourage lymphatic fluid movement. Sessions are relaxing and should never be painful. Treatment is focused on areas where fluid tends to accumulate.

How many sessions will I need?2026-01-14T18:03:29+00:00

The number of sessions varies based on the type of surgery and individual healing response. While some patients benefit from 6 to 12 sessions, others may require ongoing treatments for optimal results. At Recovery Concierge, we reassess your progress after the initial treatment package to determine next steps, and your surgeon may also provide recommendations.

Will I feel different after a session?2026-01-14T18:03:28+00:00

Many patients feel lighter and more relaxed, and notice decreased swelling. You may also need to urinate more frequently as your body eliminates excess fluid.

What should I do after my session?2026-01-14T18:03:27+00:00

Drink plenty of water to support lymphatic drainage, engage in light movement if recommended, and avoid excessive salt intake. Wearing compression garments as instructed will also enhance results.

Are there side effects?2026-01-14T18:03:27+00:00

Lymphatic Therapy is generally safe, but some patients may feel slightly tired, or experience increased urination as the body processes fluids. Rarely mild dizziness can occur due to fluid shifts.

Can I combine it with other treatments?2026-01-14T18:03:26+00:00

Yes! Lymphatic Therapy can be safely combined with deep breathing exercises, gentle movement, and other post-op recovery therapies. Always consult your doctor before starting new treatments.

How long does swelling typically last?2026-01-14T18:03:26+00:00

The swelling duration depends on the surgery type and individual healing rates. It can last anywhere from several months up to a full year. Consistency with Lymphatic Therapy and proper post-op care can help speed the recovery process.

What are the signs that my swelling is abnormal?2026-01-14T18:03:25+00:00

If you experience excessive swelling, increasing pain, redness, warmth, or fluid leakage from your incision, contact your doctor immediately.

How can deep breathing exercises help with my recovery?2026-01-14T18:03:24+00:00

Deep breathing promotes oxygen circulation, supports the lymphatic system, and helps prevent complications like fluid retention and pneumonia. Our RC massage therapists are trained to help coach you with proper breathing techniques to encourage better lymph flow and overall relaxation.

Bone Broth Elixirs

What is Recovery Concierge’s Bone Broth Elixir?2026-01-14T19:20:48+00:00

Our signature bone broth elixir was developed by our Founder and a Choctaw MD Naturopath using ancestral ingredients and a longstanding traditional recipe.

How is it made?2026-01-14T19:20:48+00:00

Our elixir is cooked for 15-24 hours, filtered and jarred, then pressure canned. Bone broth is low-acid, so we pressure can it at 250°F to guarantee the destruction of botulism and other bacteria that can survive boiling water. This makes it shelf stable for up to 6-8 months.

What are the benifits?2026-01-14T19:20:48+00:00

We started making our bone broth for our patients because the health benefits are targeted for post-op recovery and it makes the perfect meal immediately after surgery. It’s the perfect kickoff to start your recovery journey!

  • Digestive Health: Gelatin may help support the lining of the gut and it’s light on the stomach.
  • Joint Support: Collagen and gelatin are building blocks for joints, tendons, and ligaments.
  • Skin Health: Collagen is a key component of skin elasticity.
  • Hydration and Minerals: It contains electrolytes and trace minerals.
Does bone broth contain a lot of protein?2026-01-14T19:20:47+00:00

While it contains beneficial amino acids, bone broth is not a high-protein food in the traditional sense.

How do I prepare my Bone Broth Elixir?2026-01-14T19:20:47+00:00
  1. Pour 8-16oz into a mug (just fill it up, to preference) or pot
  2. Heat it up in a microwave or on the stove
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste
  4. Enjoy
What’s the white stuff floating around the top?2026-01-14T19:20:47+00:00

That’s the flavor! Technically it’s emulsified fat and protein. We used to filter it out for appearances but it’s where all the flavor is and our patients gave so much positive feedback that leave the filtering option up to you.

  1. For best flavor, leave it in, heat it up, and taste the goodness.
  2. To take it out, filter it through a strainer or scoop it out of the mug or pot after pouring, before heating.
When Should I drink my Bone Broth Elixir?2026-01-14T19:20:47+00:00

Can I use bone broth in place of regular stock?2026-01-14T19:20:45+00:00

How do I store my bone broth?2026-01-14T19:20:44+00:00

Our bone broth is canned at 250 degrees for 30 minutes to kill all heat-resistant bacteria and makes it shelf stable for 6-8 months.

AFTER OPENING:

  • Refrigerate: Up to 5-7 days in an airtight container.
  • Freezer: Typically 6-12 months. * DO NOT FREEZE IN GLASS JARS. The liquid will expand and break the glass*
